In a recent IndustryWeek Salary Survey, 85% of subscribers reported they were satisfied to very satisfied with manufacturing as a career. The high level of career satisfaction was not a product of a good economy or pay raises.
As it turns out, IW subscribers have remained steadily positive about manufacturing as a career choice even during difficult economic times and no pay raises. People involved in manufacturing love the sense of accomplishment that comes with the job. There is always something new going on at the factory. Manufacturing plants have to keep up with the latest technologies to stay competitive.
So why aren’t more people entering manufacturing careers? It seems we are not doing a good job of spreading the word. There is a need for more skilled labor in US manufacturing and people in manufacturing like their jobs.
Spread the word!
