Executives of manufacturing businesses small and large are struggling to find the talent they need to keep operations up to snuff.
"It doesn’t take a crack reporter to realize that manufacturers are facing a serious talent drain. Baby boomers are leaving the workforce. The training and apprenticeship programs that decades ago helped those workers develop valuable skills no longer exist. In the interim, the young generation has developed a dim view of the manufacturing industry. They’re not lining up to join its ranks. This confluence of factors leaves manufacturers scrambling to find talent."
